Luxury Wedding Dressmaker in Britain since 1988

Hi, I’m Cynthia, wedding dressmaker and founder of the Oui Madam Bridal label in Cookham, Berkshire.

My background and experience within the fashion industry is in excess of 25 years  and it is my life.  I have worked on collections and made dresses for nearly all the prestigious UK designers including Mulberry, Belville Sassoon, Ralph & Russo, Suzanne Neville, Jasper Conran, Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham, Emelia Wickstead, Matthew Williamson, Bella Freud, and many more…

This season however, outweighs all that I have achieved so far. I have my own boutique and my sole focus is making unique wedding gowns for my brides.  It is an opportunity for you to be passionately involved in the design process and to see firsthand your dream dress evolve. All wedding gowns are made in our London studios and we are renowned for our made in Britain ethos. Integrity, quality and customer service is genuinely what we are about so that every bride who comes into the boutique is welcomed and treated warmly regardless of status.  It makes the dress even more special when you know who, how and where it has been made, and that it has been genuinely created ‘just for you’!

These are wedding dresses I have made for my brides. What will yours look like?

Designed for you. Made for your wedding day.

Content: Silk Crepe

Colour: Ivory, Dark Ivory, Porcelain. Blush

This lined two-piece silk trouser suit is perfect for the woman who cares less about traditions and more about who she is. The silk is a luxurious weight which drapes beautifully.  It has a sand washed finish giving it a soft smooth surface with the gentlest of sheen.

The bridal trouser suit is inspired by Bianca, and Rock ‘n’ Roll artist Mick Jagger’s 1971 wedding in St Tropez.   The jacket is single breasted, button fastening, immaculately cut with softly tailored features, hip pockets, a back vent and contrasting satin collar and lapel to add a touch of glamour for your special occasion.  The trousers are wide legged and loose fitting on the hips, cut slightly lower on the waist to flatter and sculpt the body.

Material: Tulle & Silk crepe de chine

Colour:  Black, Ivory, Champagne, Vintage pink.

This dress is inspired by Dorothy Dandridge, an American actress of the 1950’s popular for her role in Carmen Jones alongside Harry Belafonte.  A conversational nod to surrealism, the style is available in two layers with a ‘nude’ bias cut silk slip for comfort and conceal.  The sheer bodice fits like a second skin with hand pleated panels cleverly positioned to enhance, a concealed back zip, pleated cuffs and layers and layers of tulle for a sumptuous looking skirt.

This dress is a bold statement for the alternative bride.

Material: Champagne Brocade

Colour: Ivory, White, Oyster, Cappuccino, Black,

A beautifully cut and perfectly fitting 1950’s classic.  The style is elegant and timeless inspired by the LBD worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys. The high neckline and sleeveless detail suits a range of wedding styles and body types.  The bodice features a lace up back neckline into the waistline, where the skirt is pencil fitted with ballgown style overskirt supported by layers of tulle which gives it’s iconic Hepburn shape. As with all our gowns, our goal is to maximise the design for individual brides; if you want something added, changed or taken away, we will happily make those adjustments for you.

Juliette Renaissance

Material:  Corded Lace Bodice, Silk Crepe skirt

Colour: Ivory, Dark Ivory, Porcelain, Blush, pale blue, Silver

This was one of our first wedding dress designs originally created back in 1998.  The style has been re-modelled but the cut and flow has not changed.  The dress is a bias-cut design to elegantly flatter slim framed, athletic and fuller body type women.  The silk is a luxurious weight which drapes beautifully.  It has a sand washed finish giving it a soft smooth surface with the gentlest of sheen.

The back train is made of silk chiffon and is fully detachable after the ceremony.  The Duchess satin belt accentuates the waist and can be plain or beaded accordingly. The upper bodice is lightly corseted with a plunging neckline (optional) and overlaid with ivory corded lace.

Material: Beaded Tulle

Colour: Colour: Ivory & Ivory/Cappuccino, Black/Nude,  Red/Nude

Features: Two-in-One dress

Delfy, is our nod to the surrealism dressing yet keeping things classy.  A delicately and intricately beaded lace overdress with the tiniest shimmering sequins that just catch the light.  The front and back neckline is an illusion style with appliquéd lace that can be customised to suit the bride.  This dress was inspired by snowfall and the tiny droplets if icicles that form when suspended.

The two separate layers can be worn together for the ceremony after which either dress can be worn alone. Take it away on your honeymoon and pair with heeled or flat sandals. The under slip is floor length and bias cut for both fit and comfort. The cut of the dress features an empire, which is where the waist line is cut just under the bust and is especially suitable for petite brides and the ‘pear/apple’ shaped body types.

Material: Silk Crepe de chine slip, Embroidered and beaded silk tulle with 3d hand beaded petals

Colour: White, Ivory, Gold

.   This wedding gown is made up of multiple layers of tulle guaranteed to bring out the magical fairytale princess in you!  A dress perfectly designed to capture and reflect the personality of the free spirited bohemian bride, this dress would look amazing in any setting; either a traditional church wedding worn with long cathedral veil, a barn wedding complete with flat sandals, or a destination wedding on a windswept coastline or beachfront with bare feet and jewelled anklets adorning the feet.

Material:  Silk Taffeta

Colour: Ivory, Porcelain, Champagne pink, Oyster

Features: Two-in-One dress

A modern take on the ‘Tea Dress’.  This gown was created for the owner of Adelais London for her Islington wedding in 2011.  A reimagined YSL inspired dress with its giant bow and a mini full circle skirt.

Material:  French corded lace

Colour: Ivory & Pearl

A heavily encrusted French corded lace, beaded with opulent pearls, clear and iridescent crystals and silver bead.   The kind of dress that sings, ‘It’s my time’ all the way up the aisle.  The low plunging neckline and complimentary V – back with illusion side panel is supported with lightweight corseting at the front and back.

Material: Cluny Lace & Crepe-de-Chine

Colour: Ivory & Pink champagne

The perfect kind of dress to make a glam but sultry bohemian statement at a barn wedding. This is Emma’s dream dress!  In fact, this practical bride knew exactly how she wanted everything right from the start, including the style of the sandals she wore to make her grand meadow entrance.

The dress was made from exquisite Cluny Lace from a UK family mill, and was draped over a Crepe-de-Chine silk slip with a hint of pink-champagne.  The two shades worked against Emma’s skin tone and blended perfectly with her colour scheme.

Material: Tulle

Colour: Ivory

This city bride wore her dazzling white bespoke gown like a catwalk model.  She looked truly amazing and I must say, was born for this special moment.  The dress was perfectly designed to shine against the backdrop of the city lights with hundreds of silver, ivory and clear glass beads clusters all over the bodice.  I can still hear the loud WOW! from her guests as she walked down the aisle.

The dress, inspired by Dior, fully corseted longline strapless gown with the frothiest layered tulle skirt.
