Ana’s Bespoke Wedding Dress Story
As a bride to be, you know the challenge of finding the dress that you have pretty much dreamed of for so long and the fact that on your wedding day, you want to look amazing! And who can blame you. Most brides start the journey pretty much the same way by visiting every boutique on their list but without a clear plan. Ana’s dream of a romantic sheer lace bridal top that wasn’t white or ivory was nowhere to be found on a shelf as she had hoped. But even more disappointing was that she hadn’t the faintest idea of how she was going to achieve it until by chance she took a chance stroll on a summers day past my window.
Ana’s beautiful blush tulle lace bridal top and skirt started with just a seedling of an idea when she popped into the boutique in Cookham, one Saturday afternoon for a quick browse with her partner. Ana loved the fact that the dresses looked so different to what she had been looking at elsewhere but was unsure whether she would be even able to afford anything that we had as her wedding dress budget was quite small. None-the-less, I invited her in to continue browsing and perhaps consider the separates collection as the pieces were individually more affordable and would allow her the freedom to mix and match the pieces with items purchased elsewhere if that would help.
Ana immediately picked out a delicate sheer beaded lace bridal top and tried it on. We were like Pooh bear and piglet in the moment – absolutely stopped in our tracks with much oooing and ahhhhing! Ana looked devine…the design of the lace bridal top and the soft gentle blush shade was soooo perfect against the warmth of her skin.
We both agreed that the satin bow wasn’t for a match for Ana’s personality – so we created a softer, deeper belted organza bow which helped to set off Ana’s waistline while adding a touch of bohemian vibe in line with Ana’s personality.
Designing & Styling The Lace Bridal Top
Ana was clear that she didn’t want a cluttered overly fussy look and to be honest, she didn’t it; for the simple reason that opting for less, is so much more refined in many many ways.
Her bridal bouquet was made from a cluster of pink roses interspersed with gypsophila (baby’s breath) flowers and in her hair she wore a simple rose gold hair band and matching bracelet to complete the look.
