A Modern Minimalist Warehouse Wedding
.
I am particularly fond of this timelessly modern and chic Warehouse Wedding Shoot that took place in Winchester Hampshire on perhaps the coldest spring day you could ever imagine. The shoot centered around a newly renovated working farm and was organized in collaboration the the wedding co-ordinator of the venue.
Even in spite of my experience of working on hundreds of shoots during my time in fashion, I can’t quite put into words why I was so nervous on the day; this was perhaps due to the responsibility that rested on shoulders alone. Shooting the dresses against a bare Warehouse Wedding as a backdrop, would it be enough I kept asking myself? I know that fashion is constantly changing and that the wedding industry itself has changed significantly in just a few short years – so to say I was perhaps a little anxious, edgy and tense was understandable. Looking back on the day – I think, this is probably one of those shoots that I said yes to, without really considering giving any thought to the details, let alone the fact it would be crazy to organise a wedding in a warehouse on a freezing cold day.
I had neverrrrr ever even contemplated shooting my glamorous wedding dresses in warehouse let along the woods, so I think the fear of taking such a huge risk had kept me awake for far too many nights than I truly cared to admit. It was more than just shooting the dress. There were so many factors that could go wrong with this together with the thought of damaging the gowns. But, none-the-less, here I was; prepared and ready to bring my style and sass to this unique Hampshire Wedding Venue to appeal to the modern bride with a little more imagination than that of a traditional wedding venue. And whilst I am in frank and honesty mode, I may as well add that a few bottles of a fine chardonay or a G&T might be necessary on the day to expand the mind as to the possibilities.
.
CHOOSING A WEDDING DRESS FOR THE VENUE
I had never walked through the venue for inspiration (as you would normally do) but, I did create two brand new designs that would be ideal for woodland styled wedding and certainly at home in the industrial setting of the warehouse. The lace two-piece wedding dress was a complete remodel of a previous gown in the studio private collection and I love the way it turned out.
.
So, without any further warbling…I am really really pleased with the outcome and the images by Berkshire Photographer Annabel Farley who was so lovely to work with…and who by the end of the day, felt more like we had fully tribed – girl gang style **(just look at the photos from the URBAN JUNGLE SHOOT to see exactly what I mean). Her talent and eye for capturing details has resulted in a range of truly captivating photographs of the day.

The Concept | A Glam Warehouse Wedding
The Barn at Avington is totally secluded and completely off the beaten tracks surrounded by miles of open fields with trees and bluebell fields. The idea behind the shoot was to combine & Transform the natural elements of the surrounding farm and the simplicity of the industrial blank space into a chic modern and elegantly styled wedding venue for couples wanting an effortless weekend that was glam yet laid back and neutral.
.
.
Industrial Glam with a tranquil feel and muted color palette with hints of geometrics, texture, copper and marble. The neutral colors against the starkness of the space created a soft gentle much warmth against the coldness of the blank space. It was hard to imagine at first how we could achieve a transformed space but, thanks to the stylist at Purple Doors, the stationery and caliigraphy by Eliza Rose at Home, the gorgeous stately cake by it was like magic! Seeing the transition from industrial space to understated chic modern luxe style.
